2005 was the year that I got to know my true purpose in this world. I realized that I had wasted my life to live for the wrong things after my Pastors (Pastor Louis and Pastor Bisi) spoke to me. My beloved pastors called me one day and spoke to me about Campus Ministry, and what the students are doing in Lagos, Nigeria. Pastor Louis gave me a magazine titled ‘LoveWorld Citizen’. As I read the testimonies in the magazine, I was so inspired and motivated. I could not sleep for days thinking of the great things that young people like me were doing for Jesus on their campuses. Then, I told myself I would not be any different, I would do the same on my campus and in my nation Uganda. I made up my mind to be a blessing to many and the solution to my world by being a provision for the vision that God has given to our Man of God, Pastor Chris.
I started by having a cell in my room at campus. I began telling my cell members that our Campus fellowship was starting soon on campus and that we would be on every campus in our nation. After a few weeks, I got a venue. Prior to getting the venue, I spoke in tongues often. The Holy Ghost said that we had a venue and we would get it with ease. He directed me to an office, where I met a lady at the front desk office. I gave her a copy of Rhapsody of Realities; she was so happy and full of joy. She said she had been looking for the Rhapsody for awhile and that she loved Pastor Chris so much. After all that, she asked what I wanted and I quickly told her I wanted a venue to hold our fellowship meetings. She told me she had a vacant venue we could use, and that we could start immediately.
I started BLW in Makerere University, and the other students where inspired and motivated to start fellowships in their schools across Uganda. So, by 2007 we were on 9 campuses. Presently we are on 17 campuses and we are still counting. Lives on campus have been changed, many students have given their lives to Christ, healings have taken place, destinies have been changed, and the lives of many students have been given a meaning and purpose for living through our meetings on the campuses.
Through the training received in the Campus Ministry, several leaders have been raised to impact their universities with the Word of God with boldness, confidence and without apology. The leaders are doing things that they never imagined they could do because they simply said YES to God’s Spirit.
They are now vitally and actively involved in partnership with the ministry; and in the distribution of our ministry materials to the administrative staff and students on campus.
As a result of becoming the provision for the vision, the leaders and brethren have watched their lives move from glory to glory, with divine excellence displayed in all that they do. The miraculous now characterizes their daily lives; glory to God.
I want to say ‘Thank you’ to our Pastor, Teacher, Life Coach, Mentor and Father Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. You have given us the opportunity to reach out to countless youth; and to change our world in Uganda and across East Africa through the message in the Campus Ministry. Thank you so much Sir. We love you.
