Life! What is it all about? What is the purpose of life? John had asked himself these questions again and again. He’d just turned twenty-eight last year. He had graduated with a first-class bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from a reputable University in the heart of Africa. Shortly afterwards, John began to develop the career of his dreams. He made rapid progress and grew to become the Director of Operations in one of the most popular telecommunications companies in West Africa. Whilst there, he was well-known for his efficiency and optimum productivity at work.
He was later given the assignment of scheduling the company’s major board meetings. In carrying out this new task, he displayed unprecedented excellence and scrupulous accuracy. After his countless brilliant business proposals, John received an outstanding accolade and an unexpected promotion during one of the board meetings. Before he knew it, he had become a reference point to his colleagues. At this point, John had earned great respect and everyone he knew held him in high esteem.
Although John seemed to be at the peak of his career, he knew deep inside him that he had not reached the zenith in life. True success in life was more than all his illustrious business accomplishments, and this he couldn’t deny.
At lunch break one afternoon, one of his friends came over to have a chat with him. In the course of their discussion, he introduced him to Jesus. At that point, John realized that Jesus was the one he needed in his life to make it life worth living. Without Jesus, all his achievements were useless and worthless. So on that beautiful afternoon, sitting in the company cafeteria, and with tears of joy at finding the author of life’s true purpose, John gave his heart to Jesus.
You too can receive Jesus like John did and be truly satisfied and purposeful in life. If you want to make Jesus your Lord and Savior, just pray this simple prayer and mean it with your whole heart:
Oh Lord God, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Your word says, “whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:4). I ask Jesus to come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit and according to Romans 10:9,”that if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved.” I declare that I am saved.
Congratulations! You are now a child of God.
